NYG vs PHI Preview

I Hate Philly

Win a Super Bowl, you get primetime games. Philly will be the 3rd in 4 weeks. "Sunday night, is game night."

I hate Philly. Ever since the Miracle at the Meadowlands 2, I cant stand to see any news about the Eagles. Won't go on a tantrum. Heres the breakdown:

  • Nicks is out, Diehl is out, Hosley is out, Rivers is out.
  • Bradshaw has a bulging disc in his neck. Bigger injury waiting to happen.
  • Prince is getting his first ever NFL start. He made his NFL debut against the Eagles last year week 11. Had an INT on his first defensive snap.
  • Webster will be playing with a cast.
  • Jacquian Williams be getting extended work with Rivers being out.
  • With Hosley out, Coe expected to get time.

Mike "Pick" Vick has thrown six interceptions and has lost three fumbles to account for nine of his team’s 12 turnovers. Hit Vick, early and often. Last time they played Vick, they broke his hand on a Chris Canty hit. Make him feel uncomfortable in the pocket. You have to contain him though. Still the best athlete in the NFL in many eyes.

I desperately want to see Will Hill get into this game. With Hosley out, Hill can easily step in. Better tackler than Coe, overall better athlete. Maybe have him spy Vick all game with his athleticism.

How many touches will Shady McCoy get? He's 10th in the league with 58 attempts. He is easily a top 5 back.

The Giants have lost 6 of the last 7 meetings with the Birds. The last being against VINCE YOUNG at Metlife last year. 17-10.
Guess what? We still have Eli. Eagles have an undersized linebacking corps. Look for Bennett to get some solid work again. With the emergence of RAMSES BARDEN and Andre Brown, dont forget about Cruuuuuz and JPP. We should get the W.

McCoy Vs Osi

"Let the Beef Begin"

We all know how big this game is on Sunday. I'll write a preview, but this is about LeSean McCoy and Osi Umenyiora. It all started last summer when Osi called McCoy "Lady Gaga" and called him a "she" when McCoy fired back saying that Osi is overrated, soft, and the 3rd best DE on the Giants. On this past mothers day Osi tweeted this: "Happy Mothers Day Lesean Mccoy! Enjoy your special day!!" McCoy really didn't have a rebuttal and he says the reason for that was because he was looking for a contract and that Andy Reid, who he is close with, told him to say nothing.

In the same show Osi has a response with a little sarcastic jab,

"He is probably right, I might be a ballerina in a Giants uniform. I am lucky that I got the contract, I'm lucky to be playing 10 years in the league, won Super Bowls, all that is pure luck. I am happy for him, I'm happy that he got his contract, and I am happy that everything is working out for him in Philadelphia."

I hope to god there is a one on one collision with these two Sunday night. I hope the ball flies out of McCoy's arm and Osi scoops and scores for a TD. McCoy is going to be running with a purpose Sunday, just like the rest of this angry Eagles team. With McCoy talking shit about one of their own, I can see Tuck and JPP not letting him out of their sights. I see pushing and shoving, maybe fists flying throughout this game. Especially if the replacement refs are still there.

NYG vs CAR Recap

Cam's Kryptonite

So, the Giants don't have the weapons? Injuries will hurt us? Without Hakeem Nicks, they will double Cruz and that's that? Once again. Hi Haters!

Couple hours before kickoff I'm pretty sure I said this may be a break out game for RAMSES BARDEN, and I was right. The man went off tonight, showed exactly why the Giants have never given up on the 3rd round draft pick. Showed off his size, his hands, and most importantly, his separation skills. Could have had a TD but the corner made a great play on the fade rout. No Nicks, no fucking problem.

Also, Andre Brown. Said he showed he could run, and he ran. All over the Panthers. He could not be stopped. Being patient unlike Bradshaw, stiff arming everybody, juking around. The man has talent. Bradshaw is noticing, your spot may be in jeopardy, you won't be rushed back any time soon.

Locklear, from what I saw, got beat once. Had a very nice game over there at RT. Not gonna rush back David Diehl either.

THANK YOU DEFENSE! JPP is the best Dlineman in football. He keeps playing like this, he may be the best defensive player in football. That option shit barely did anything against us. It is all about containing Cam, not necessarily rushing him. The defense did that and more.

Javron Hosley is good and he proved it tonight. Coughlin said he is scrappy, and that may be the best word to describe him. He is all over the field. Nice INT off the tip. Hurt his hammy though, I hope its not an issue.

Antrel Rolle should be fine, cut his knee on the camera. Scary as shit though. Didn't even matter though. Stevie Brown with the INT shortly after as his replacement.

Who could have seen this production (besides myself), from The Black Unicorn, Martellus Bennett? 3 TDs in first 3 games as a Giant. His size and speed is something that makes him very hard to stop and it showed tonight. Linebackers couldn't stop him.

What people seem to forget is that we still have Eli Manning. When he is in the game, there has to be a level of confidence from every Giants fan that we can get it done regardless of the "weapons" he has. 27 for 35. Carved up the defense like a Thanksgiving turkey.

Cam says that they beat themselves. Right dude. Watch the film.

Corey Webster broke his hand and continued to play. He has a hard cast on, says he won't miss any time.

Bottom line. This team is good. Best team in the league when on the road. When doubted, they show up and win. I was infuriated with the doubters from the NY media, and fans on Thursday.

NYG vs CAR Preview

Week 3

Ah week 3 already. Injuries. Injuries. Injuries. To be honest, I'm not even worried. David Diehl is done folks, he's just not good. I hope Locklear goes in there, to RT, and takes the spot for the rest of the season. Him and Beatty should do fine tonight. Andre Brown showed he could run. We still have to see David Wilson break out. I expect more reps with only Brown in front of him, has to take advantage of that. Expect double teams going to Cruz, and with no Hixon... I also think it is RAMSES BARDEN time. He got some looks last game when Nicks had to go to the sideline. His size makes him a threat, he also broke off the press coverage well against the Bucs.Could also be a break out game for Rueben Randle, prove he's more than just a PR, which he is good at

We cannot win if our defense does not step up. Where is Tuck, where is Osi? One Sack between all of our DE's and its week 3. PATHETIC. If you cannot rattle Cam Newton, and let him run around the whole time, its game set match.

Prince is back, and we need him. Corey Webster has just not looked good. Tryon is god awful. Coe is alright. Hosley is also going to see reps. Coughlin called him a scrappy player, getting the recognition he deserves.

Martellus Bennett should go off tonight. Panthers have no linebackers that compare to his size.

Blackburn is too slow to help contain Newton. We have a healthy Rivers who will get his reps and Herlzlich who is much quicker than Chase.

We still have Eli Manning. There are a lot of people that are worried about the injuries and the short week. I don't worry about anything if we have Eli. We have the depth at the WR position as well as the tackle position, and we are gaining a cornerback. A 1st rounder. We should be alright.

Bucs Recap

WAY too Close for Comfort

It sure as hell looked like a loss. Eli couldn't find anybody except for Bucs. Wide receivers were getting held left and right. Bradshaw is out with an injury. Dropped TD passes. Starting tackle goes down. Then, WHAM. Andre Brown comes outta left field and erases any running game problems. Eli is finding everybody. Cruz is catching the ball. Hakeem Nicks is running around with on one leg/foot almost dropping 200.

That Kenny Phillips hit on VJax was a huge play. Love the no call either. Troy and Buck hate the Giants, always looking for calls.

Martellus Bennett. The man could have had 3 TDs.  I like the fact that Eli kept trusting him throughout. The more balls he gets, the more experience he gets, the more TDs.

Great game by JPP in terms of tackles. Other than that. Josh Freeman must have had an average of 7 seconds per play in the pocket. Completely fucking unacceptable. I didn't want to swear and lose composure, cause we won, but the lack of pressure is why we almost lost. I thought we had one of the best D Lines in the game? You have to think they weren't being held as much as last game. Excuses are getting thin.

Corey Webster, stop looking into the backfield or you will get beat deep all day. Lucky Freeman didn't hit VJax on that wide open play for a TD because of your peeking.

Rushing defense did fine. I'll take 66 yards and a ridiculous backfield spin around TD.

Brown getting 2RB reps is just too bad for Wilson. He is a hell of a return man though. That dropped pass hurt him.

Can't say enough about Eli's composure. Throws 3 INTs in the first half, shakes it off, and balls out in the second half. Bucs secondary couldn't keep up. 14 of 24, 295 yards and two touchdowns. 2nd in Giants history for all time single game passing yds, tied for 7th in NFL history with 510.  Should have had 2 more TDs if not for drops (or not seeing a wide open Bradshaw). Haters loved saying Eli was going back to the QB that threw 4 INTs vs the Vikings. Good thing there are two halves to every game. Especially a 4th quarter.

Cruz 11 CATCHES for 179 and a TD. No drops. Redemption.

Buzz going around about the kneel down at the end of the game. Bucs dive at the legs of the Giants lineman trying to "dislodge the ball". Coughlin screaming at Schiano. Tuck says they won't forget it.

Week 2: NYG vs TB

And We're Back.

Thank god its back. Felt like we had a week 1 bye with the amount of time between games. Extended time for the Giants and their fans to look back at the Dallas game and get angry.

Is it a MUST win? No, week 2 is never a must win. If we lose, is it concerning? Absolutely. That's just not going to happen. Last week was filled with mistakes, "missed" holding calls, etc. Our front four on the defensive side is going to go berserk. I hope to see a lot of NASCAR on Sunday, just so every DE, none of which had a sack, get to the Josh Freeman. Also, Trueblood, the starting LT for the Bucs is questionable with an ankle injury. Must take advantage of that

Interesting fact. The Offensive Coordinator of the Bucs? Ex QB coach Mike Sullivan. Giants have changed all of their signs and signals for this week. Let's hope this does not confuse our players.

Am I scared of Doug Martin? Absolutely not. Jerry Reese didn't have him higher than Wilson on his draft board for a reason. Stop the run, and stop it the whole game. Don't let Martin break out later in the game like Murray did.

Rivers had a good game last week and is now doubtful this week. You will see Boley step right back into his usual role and see him trying to prove why he should be the starter. I expect a nice game from him.

Prince and Marvin Austin will probably play. What can Marvin Austin bring to the table? The Bucs will try to run, wearing down our line, Austin should get some reps. Prince just needs to do something, anything, to prove why he was a 1st round pick.

David Wilson is "a little" out of the doghouse. The man did OB's by himself when the team was not practicing. OBs are 100 yard sprints dropping every 5 yards and getting back up with a football in each hand. Apparently this is what his team did in high school, and with a little text from his coach, Wilson was on the field by himself. Running.

Wilson and Martin will probably be compared throughout their careers and I hope the real comparisons come on Sunday. Only way that happens? Wilson gets a nice number of carries. Will that happen? That's anyone's guess.

I guess Cruz dropped those balls because his grandmother was on her death bed? No, he dropped the balls because he took his eyes off of them. Look for him to have at least 2 TD's this week. Redemption.

P.S. T2 had yet another knee surgery. Found a partial tear in his ACL. Guy is done. It's too bad.

Here You Go

Not even going to bullshit here.

Kevin Killdrive needs to get his head out of his ass very very soon. He needs to give Eli the reigns of the offense and have him take over the game like his brother does. People that defend Killdrive come at doubters saying "Eli has had so many yards passing, they still win..." Why the fuck are you running the ball if everyone watching knows you cant run? It was pretty much 50-50 run pass in the first half. Completely fucking unacceptable.

David Wilson, you may have put yourself in the doghouse for a while. We had a very solid drive going, you run, and fumble the ball. We all know it was an issue in college, thought you may have fixed it, but you didn't. God damn you for getting our hopes up.

That misses PI on Cruz at the goal line was fucking killer. If we score there, game is tied with 2 minutes to go with Romo trying to win a game.

The secondary is awful. Corey Webster was absolutely owned. You're a shut down corner bro? Really? It is unbelievable how much faith we had in you.

Where was the pass rush? The NASCAR?? Romo did a nice job checking down, eyes in the back of his fucking head. Ogletree slants, abusing anyone that was on him. No excuse. 2 sacks all game, one by Rocky Benard? The other by Joseph?

Victor Cruz, catch the god damn football. 3 drops. You did nothing. NOTHING.

Where is the swagger?

Eli can only do so much, he missed Hixon, but scored on a pass to Bennett shortly after.

It was only a matter of time that Murray burst through the line. The Giants need to be able to stop the run. Way too many holes in this defense.  Just a terrible, terrible loss.

Finally!

Thank God It's Here: NYG vs. DAL

Rant before the news. I hate the Cowboys more than life itself. I hate Ware, I hate Jerry Jones, I hate Tony Romo, and I despise that A-Rod looking (when helmet is on) clown Miles Austin. This is a huge regular season opener for the Giants. "Experts" have the Giants not even making the playoffs let a lone repeating. It's time to make a huge statement to open the year. We started off with a bang (no pun intended) the year after we won in 07, Plax shot himself, and we spiraled downhill. There is a reason why they had this game open the season. It has the receipe to be the most watched regular season game ever.

Out: Prince, Ratliff
Questionable: Beatty Boley Hosley Kiwi Nicks
Doubtful: Witten, Jenkins

Locklear is getting start at LT. He is going to see a lot of Demarcus Ware. He is not worried however, hes been going against the Giants defensive ends for awhile now in practice.

Coe is getting the start opposite Webster. Will the Giants have Webster locked on Dez or Austin? Coe will be left with the other one. Not an easy task either way.

Watch for Rivers to get some nice playing time. Kiwi and Boley are having hamstring issues. Time to see if hes a complete steal from the Bengals.

Please don't let DeMarco Murray run for 300 yards.

Nicks hasn't really been practicing in the past two days. He promises to play. We need his foot to be pain free. Dallas has some good corners

I expect at least 5 sacks of Romo tonight, you think the Giants O-line is in bad shape? Cowboys are not any better in that department.

Interesting note, what Reuben Randle can bring to the team not only on the field but off the field as well. Went to school with the Cowboys 1st rd. draft pick Mo Claibourne, what information can he give them on the playing style of the young CB?

Who is guarding the slot for the Giants? Is Fewell ready to send a banged up Hosley out there? Will Rolle have to step down? Is Will Hill ready for the big time? The Cowboys have yet to find a replacement for Laurent Robinson, it will be an interesting matchup to watch.

Who is locked on Cruz? New Cowboy Brandon Carr after the trash talking? Jenkins probably wont play. Or will they not even bother locking on.

David Wilson vs. Bradshaw. I see this being a battle for the carries at some point this season. How many carries will the Giants give the rookie Wednesday night?

What is the Black Unicorn Martellus Bennett gonna do? Put his money where his mouth is and show his ex team how much they really lost?

Cuts, IR, Other Things.

News Since Patriots Game

Finally the roster has been cut to 53. D.J. Ware getting cut was surprising to me, and most other fans and analysts. Has been with the team for the past 6 years, did not get much time behind Bradshaw and Jacobs. He's now on Tampa Bay ... Last Giants RB to go to Tampa, Derrick Ward, right.

We LOVE defensive ends on this team. Both Tracy and Ojomo are on the team. Both had awesome pre preseasons, I hope Reese has found a few diamonds in the rough. There are some rumblings the Giants want to trade for a OLineman, will either of these two be moved?

Seems like we have found some linebackers with this Greg Jones cut. He was our week 1 starter last year because of the terrible LB situation we had.

I guess 11 tackles in 4 games wont get you a roster spot. I thought Hendricks was going to make the squad with the DT situation, but him and Thomas both got cut for the 7th round pick Kuhn.

WR's Douglas, Depalma and Stanback were all cut from the team with Douglas the only confirmed practice squad player.

Sash was put on the Reserve/Suspended list. We shall see what they want to do after suspension is over.

T2 and Shaun Rogers were put on the long term IR. Too bad, really.

Prince should be back week 2 and Hosley has a real chance of playing Wednesday. I'll write more later in the week.
