Sash Suspended 4 Games.

Safety Tyler Sash has tested positive for a PED. Sash has come out and said it is adderall, which he took legally for anxiety. The test came up positive in March.
This is yet another reason why we would need Grant back. I'm one of the few who are against Grant coming back, but with Thomas down, and now this, its probably going to happen.

Remember Andre Brown appealed his suspension and it got lifted already this off season. We shall see.

Update: Sash has already appealed and lost, officially suspended 4 games

Mark Sanchez Measures Up To Eli

Mark Sanchez and Eli Manning

Mark Sanchez knows he needs to start winning, and he needs to start now,

"That fourth year, I think he threw one pick in the playoffs when they won that Super Bowl. One," Sanchez said Monday, referring to the Giants quarterback's postseason success in the 2007 season. "And I think he might have thrown 20 in the regular season."

The man is rattling off Eli's stats like he has them memorized. He also knows that he can turn it around just like Eli has done, winning the Super Bowl twice, being MVP both times.

Both had surprisingly similar numbers during their first three years: Manning amassed 8,049 passing yards, 54 touchdowns and 44 interceptions in 41 games (39 starts) for a passer rating of 73.2. Sanchez had 9,209 passing yards, 55 TDs and 51 interceptions for a rating of . . . 73.2.

What happened after Eli's 3rd year? One of the biggest upsets in NFL history, that's what. Now does Marky Mark have the defense that Eli had? Maybe. The weapons on offense? No.

Eli's 3rd regular season TD/INT: 24/18 ... Mark's 3rd regular season TD/INT: 26/18

Hate to say it, but Jets fans, and coaches, gotta have a little more faith.

Terrell Thomas Re-injures ACL

Thomas Injures ACL For 3rd Time

Probably the second best corner on the team hurts his ACL after tearing it twice already. Guy worked so hard this off season trying to get ready and this happens. The injury was hush hush in the beginning, just precautionary icing, but when they needed the MRI, it got serious. They will now scope it to see what the deal is, but it does not sound good.

Prince and Coe are sharing reps with the first team, and Hosley (3rd rd pick) cut his knee open needing stitches. The problem is, while in the nickel package, they had Rolle covering the slot, something he does not want, and neither do we. I'll update the page when any other news comes out.

PS. Goff has torn his ACL once again for the Skins. Unfortunate.

Update: At least a partial tear

First Weekend Recap

Weekend Recap

  • Jernigan beating Webster and Thomas on deep balls doing real well.
  • LBs Michael Boley and Keith Rivers out with hamstrings.
  • Da'Rel Scott out with sprained ankle
  • Nicks loves Randle who got exhausted and stopped practicing with 30 minutes left in Sundays practice.
  • JPP says he has only reached 50% of his potential
  • Trattou DE sprained ankle in walking boot, Adrian Tracy (converted LB) getting reps
  • Reese says Bennett is a blocking TE
  • Herzlich impressing
Overall seems like an okay start to camp. Secondary getting a lot of praise, Webster has made a few nice INTs. Cruz has been impressing with flashy grabs down the sideline. David Wilson is blowing away everybody that is watching. Greg Jones has moved to OLB from MLB. Doing well. JPP saying hes only at 50% of his potential is a SCARY thought. Man is a Freak.

Full pads tomorrow, off Tuesday. Season can't come soon enough.

Camp Day 1

Day 1

Few things happened at camp yesterday and were brought to my attention by the pro writers on twitter:

Canty (knee), Nicks (foot), Sintim (knee), Beckum (knee) all starting on PUP (physically unable to perform list). The rule with the PUP list is that if you are still there week 1 of the regular season, you have to sit out until week 6.

Nicks just started running in the pool and has had no setbacks in rehab. So he was blatantly wrong when he predicted that he would be ready for camp. Thanks dick.

Beatty is not on the PUP but is limited because of his back (did not do conditioning yesterday)

Martellus Bennett rolled up in a Bentley and started talking about his former team and the NFL, "I just want to kick those guy's asses" ... "I mean we are cool, but we ain't that cool, know what I am saying? I kind of got some ill feelings toward them overall. It is a game. I kind of hate everybody, honestly, in the NFL."  Also compared himself to Gandhi? I don't know.
Listen guy, I get that you are pissed off, that you want to get back at the Cowgirls, but the talk stops here, if you are a Giant, and you want to talk, perform on the field first. We play Dallas week 1. Get in the end zone, pancake somebody, then you can start yip yappin.

I am sick and tired of the NFL Network, ESPN, and every other fucking sports station talking nothing but the Jets and the Broncos. Just ALL DAY LONG, guess the Jets have once again gotten all the attention they wanted, Giants just flying under the radar, besides Bennett.

Osi Takes Shot At RGIII

Osi Takes Shot At RGIII

Who ever has decided to read this blog should have seen my article on what RGIII had to say about the defensive ends on the New York Giants. Now, the articles I have read have not connected the two, but Osi has taken a shot at "RGIII":

"Who is this RG3 guy you guys keep talking about?'' Umenyiora said. "You talking about Bob Griffin? You guys are giving him a cool nickname already and everything. When he does anything in the NFL we're gonna call him RG3. Right now he's Bob Griffin.''

I cannot wait until the Giants play the Skins this year. They lost not only once but twice to these assholes. Bob Griffin started the fire, and now Osi is adding fuel to this revitalized rivalry.

Have fun with your Gatorade, Adidas, and Subway commercials without doing a thing in the NFL you clown looking loser, see you October 20th.

Eli Responds To Toomer

Eli Responds To Toomer

“I saw Toomer not too long ago at the ESPY awards and I went up to him and I said ‘Hey, I think Willie Ponder and Ike Hilliard were better receivers than you were for the Giants.’ Just kind of laughed and joked about it. I don’t get upset about those things. Amani’s been a good pal of mine. I don’t think he was trying to be mean to me in any way or try to hurt my feelings. That’s just the way things are now, with so many different talk radio shows and so many different things talking about football year-round, there’s only so much you can say. You can listen to every single one and get upset every time they say anything bad about me or the Giants, if that got to me and got me upset or concerned we’d have some serious problems.’’

Eli being Eli. The man cares about nothing but what matters most, winning. "Oh another ex teammate talking shit? I'll just laugh it off because I am a 2x Superbowl MVP and they are not." This is why I love Eli, people have been down on him his whole career and he just wins. Yeah he's thrown some INT's, but you can have all the stats in the world in the regular season (Romo), you still need to perform in the playoffs when it matters most.

Keep fueling this raging fire haters, I'll gladly welcome another Superbowl win.

TRAINING CAMP!!

Training Camp Preview

Gonna be a long one but I want to get all things training camp out of the way before it starts Friday. Just jumping around position to position, and who should and will be playing by September 5th.

WR3:  Randle, Hixon, Barden, Jernigan

Nicks and Cruz obvious number 1 and 2. What we need to look at here is the 3rd wide out. You have to believe that in 3 WR sets, Cruz will play the slot. This leaves 2nd rd pick Randle fighting it out with Barden and Hixon for the outside in my mind. Hixon is coming off his 2nd ACL tear in two years. Barden is injury prone and a huge disappointment. Jernigan is too small and is made for the slot with his speed.

Randle comes out on top and the 3rd WR for the Giants this year.

RB2: Ware, Wilson, Scott

Bradshaw is the starter. Question here is who comes in to replace Jacobs? Ware has the most size and experience. Wilson has the pure explosiveness and game breaking ability, pass blocking and fumbles are an issue. Da'Rel Scott is probably the fastest on the team and everyone remembers his 97 yard run last pre season, but after one fumble, he never touched the field again.

Ware looks like the favorite, Wilson will prove he has what it takes in camp/pre season

TE: Pascoe, Bennett, Robinson

Pascoe obviously has the most experience but it can be argued he is 2nd best in everything else. Bennett sat behind Witten in Dallas since he was drafted in 08, he can run block, pass block, and catch, basketball player in college, great redzone threat. Robinson "the JPP of tightends"is a project at this point. See what he can do in camp.

Bennett comes in and starts immediately for the Giants. I expect big things from him.

OL:  Beatty LT (retina, then back in Spring drills.)  Boothe LG, Diehl RT (broken hand) Snee RG (elbow) Baas C (head/neck)

From what I've read, they are all healthy, this should be starting O Line

FB: Hynoski

Has built himself into a baby bull. Great blocker, receiver out of the backfield

DT3: Rocky Benard, Shaun Rogers (elbow) Marvin Austin (torn pectoral)

Canty and Joseph are the starters so who will be number 3? Rocky Benard is the pre camp favorite  with the most experience as a Giant.  Shaun Rogers has size but has been a joke since we got him, claiming he has an elbow injury that no one wants to talk about. Marvin Austin hasn't played a meaningful game since December 2009, his junior year in college. He tore is pectoral muscle in the 3rd pre season game last year. He also brings speed to the DT position, and should be used by Fewell in many ways.

If the former 2nd rd pick Marvin Austin stays is healthy, I see him as the No.3 and making an impact

LB: The Linebacker story

It gets interesting here, as it stands now it looks like this,  Kiwi (strong side) Blackburn (middle) Boley (weak side). This can all change with the play of Chase Blackburn. He can easily be replaced by Boley, opening up the weak side to Keith Rivers, the former No. 1 draft choice of the Bengals in 2008. Jaquian Williams is the nickle line backer with speed and coverage ability but I think there is too much competition for a starting role. Herzlich has an outside chance of actually starting this year if he can outplay Chase and Rivers in camp/preseason, I think he may need another year though. Greg Jones started 11 games at MLB last year, but once Chase came back, the Giants never looked back.

Kiwi. Boley. Rivers. I can't see Blackburn being an everyday starter. Rivers has too much raw ability

DE: Tuck, JPP, OSI

Let's be serious, best DE group in the league, they will be rotating around all season

CB2: Terrell Thomas (knee) Prince (foot)

Webster showed last year that he can be the shut down corner when we need him. So now it turns to the opposite corner. Terrell Thomas is coming off his 2nd torn ACL. He was thought to be a Pro Bowl candidate before the seasons started. Prince Amukamara broke his foot last year in his 2nd NFL practice and needed another procedure this off season, much less experience than TT.

The durability of TT's knee scares me. I can see Prince winning it in camp/preseason

The "Bison Role"(3rd Safety) Tyler Sash, Steve Brown, Will Hill, Deon Grant?

Kenny Phillips and Antrel Rolle are the starting two safeties for this team, but who takes on the 3rd safety, and/or "Bison Role". Tyler Sash has the experience in the Giants system over both Brown and Hill and is a great special teamer. Brown, like Hill, has been getting nothing but praise since he has come to the Giants this off season. Will Hill has zero NFL experience, a former No. 1 Recruit out of Jersey has all the athletic talent in the world. Fewell can use him in different ways, hope he has a great camp. I hope that Deon Grant doesn't come back, he played the Bison Role perfectly but he's old, and I think it is time to move on.

I think Sash gets the nod here with the experience, and Hill takes the 4th safety spot.

KR: David Wilson, Da'Rel Scott, Domenik Hixon

Wilson returned kicks at VaTech. Da'Rel Scott got some time there last year. Hixon when healthy has been returning both punts and kicks.

I love the Wilson/Scott combo. Pure speed. Save Hixon for WR work, no need to risk injury.

PR:  Jayron Hosley, Jernigan, Hixon

Hosley returned punts at VaTech. Jernigan got some time there last season but most reps went to Aaron Ross. Again, when healthy Hixon was the teams return man.

Give Hosley a shot. Jernigan did not prove anything with last years opportunity, no Hixon risk

Martellus Out Of Shape?

You can see the whole workout on youtube. It's like 30 minutes long so good luck. Bottom line is, he's not fat, and he's not out of shape. If healthy, he can be a dynamic asset to this team. We have not had a big play tight end in years and I feel like he can be that guy.

He's 6'6"and if he weighs 291, it's all muscle like he stated in his interview. Should be a great red zone threat with his experience in basketball (played two years at Texas A&M.) He learned plenty of technique stuff from Jason Witten with the Cowgirls. Known for his excellent blocking ability but never really got the chance to catch balls with the Girls.

After finally seeing what kind of shape this man is in, I'm excited to see what he can do at camp and the pre-season. Gilbride is not known for great TE usage, but he now has a whole new weapon to use. Like Bennett states, "Get used to seeing #89 do great things."

I'm Back!!

I'm Back!!

To whoever reads this shit, I'm back. I want to give a recap and a few thoughts on the events that have transpired in Giants world since my last post. (earliest to most recent)

May 14- Chad Jones Waived. Heart breaking story with the car accident in 2010. Too many setbacks in rehab made the Giants pull the trigger. We then signed WILL HILL right after the release of Chad Jones. If you don't know who Will Hill is, look him up. LOVE IT.

May 24- Nicks Breaks Foot. Seems devastating with a 3 month prognosis but he says he will be back by training camp. Guy loves his injuries but we shall see.

June 1- Martellus Bennett Is Overweight. The man is 6'-6" 291 lbs. He is a Tight End. Last time I checked, a 291 lb. football player is not a tight end. Thing is, he says its rock muscle and that he is a "physical freak."

June 1- Osi Restructures . Apparently the Giants need this guy more than I thought? Osi will make a possible $6.5 million including incentives this upcoming season and the contract is voidable in 2013 so he can be a free agent after this season.

June 6- Coughlin Gets an Extension . The grandpa himself signed a 3 year $20 million extension. People can say he is too tough on players and whatever the fuck else, but 2 rings, 5 playoff appearances in 8 years, I'll take it.

June 11- Diehl's DWI. I don't even know anymore. How people with this much money get DWIs is beyond me. Watch out for parked cars next time you clown bag. Happy it didn't happen closer to the season so the distraction should be long gone.

June 12- Ballard to the Pats. Hey if you can't beat em' bring em' to your team right? Typical Belichick/Patriots bullshit. Giants made a deal with the devil in waiving Ballard to stash him on the PUP list/off the 90 man, and the Pats jumped on it. Brady and Belichick need all the help they can get with beating Eli and Tom.

July 6- Toomer on Romo. Love when people don't give Eli the respect he deserves. If I wanted a guy that is going to throw less interceptions and be more productive, higher completion percentage, I'm going to go with Tony Romo. Sweet, guy. How bout when you are down in the 4th quarter? How bout when you need a playoff win? You can rack up regular season numbers all you want, but if you can't win when it matters most, it doesn't matter. Toomer is a jealous fuck who is pissed about Cruz breaking his receiving yards record. Go fall off the face of the earth like Tiki.
